Permanently Affordable Living Hawai'i

Permanently Affordable Living Hawaiʻi (PAL) is a 501(c)(3) affordable housing nonprofit. Our mission is to establish a foundation of hope by providing affordable homes and services for the people of Hawaiʻi.

We work to keep local families rooted in place by constructing, purchasing, and managing affordable communities across the island for houseless and very low- to moderate-income households. Through partnerships with community organizations, we connect residents with social services and programming that support stability, wellness, and connection.

At the heart of our work is cultural preservation. When families can remain in their communities, they can continue to pass down ʻike, traditions, language, and a deep sense of belonging. By placing every PAL home into the Ho‘omaluhia Community Land Trust, we protect long-term affordability for over 198 years—eight generations and beyond, ensuring that the donations invested today help safeguard Hawai‘i’s people and cultural heritage well into the future.
