On Kaua‘i’s North Shore, emergency services are extremely limited: just one fire station, one police station, and two EMS/ambulance units cover the entire region.
In a natural disaster or large-scale emergency, responders must focus on the most critical needs, leaving most residents to care for themselves, their families, and neighbors until help arrives. Recognizing this urgent gap, North Shore Give created North Shore Ready to build a network of prepared, trained residents.
North Shore Ready includes the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, CPR/AED Use training, Community Preparedness Forums, and more.
By empowering ordinary residents with practical skills, North Shore Ready helps ensure that when natural disasters strike (such as hurricanes, floods, and wildfires), the community is better able to respond quickly and effectively.
Donations will help pay for 2026 training instructor fees, emergency supplies, and volunteer field backpacks.
Donate to North Shore Ready and you help to strengthen community preparedness and resilience.
